Love the render of her trousers :)

Did you throw a noise filter over or is it from compression?

And for some constructive feedback, pretty sure you already have noticed it ( as we all do right after uploading it ) her mid section is a bit long :)

Really nice shape language and colour palette, but... the eyes, I can't see anything else then eggs there, so I have to ask was that a design choice or... I mean I like it, it fits the theme and it's an interesting character quirk.

Just curious :), made me smile when I noticed it.

JonathanPT responds:

the design of the eyes is just part of the character design. Hydra has had that eye design for years. This is just an illustration of her coming out of an egg as a baby because I thought it would be an interesting visual

Gorgeous illustrations, love the colours and the warmth.
Left arm a bit off, leaning in instead of out, easy mistake to overlook just made one myself :)

I have to compliment you on the expressions :)
but I have seen some of your other illustration and
I recommend working on values/lighting, your forms are a bit flat.

hope you wont remove your art :),
have seen that some people does it when I comment like this.

purple-blep responds:

all g, i do need to get better with values, but its a bit hard when i dont have a calibrated screen or the money to buy a spyder to fix it.
painted styled stuff is one im still working on improving, but im still happy with this one for being quick rough up piece.

Looks good :) Might have to try something like this my self.

Are the details in the clouds/island/smoke made with a free brush
or by marking off with the lasso tool and then colouring in?

MLeth responds:

Yeah most major shapes were made with the lasso tool along with the gradient tool - this way you can get some excellent shapes real quickly. Then pair that with some smudge tooling!

not a league of legends player, but I like the simplicity and mood in this illustration

has to say I really like the lighting, mood and shapes her.
I would had loved to see more refined feet and hands,
but I can't say much I have a tendency to do the same

HalcyonGrey responds:

Hey GameBlock, glad you like the painting and thanks for the helpful feedback. I really appreciate it. I'll keep your criticism in mind as I work on my next piece.

love the motion in this piece

Zaccura responds:

Ah thank you! :D

hei I have look thru a lot of your art, and I have to say that you have improved with your gestures and proportion,
but your images has a flatness and lack of impact from the surroundings
(clothes not getting impacted by the hands for example). so I recommend you to look into that
especially contrasts and lighting, it will have a huge impact on your art

you have some good character design. but you should try to use a grey background, because it is quite tiring on the eye

KaitoARTS responds:

u n d e r s t a n d a b l e ,

although that would match their skin colour :/
